How much horsepower makes a car Not street legal

Horse power doesnt make a car street legal
or not street legal.

i just went to the local police station and spoke with them about my car on the road he said " you can have as much horse power you like just make sure you don't speed, over accelerate and don't smoke the tires" and make sure the exhust is legal check with your local police for any questions or go on line to your legislature(sp) page for traffic laws...........kevin p.s hey 427 there is no laws at this time about having wheel-e- bars on your car as long as you don't use them that is hee hehe he
