hey gang,
in my seemingly eternal quest to find a cool f-body to prepare for SCCA Solo2 street modified i am looking at another 2nd gen. a 77 Z28, 4spd car.
i was wondering what kind of weight savings you guys have seen from fiberglass bumpers? fiberglass hood(with a small cowl)? a fiberglass front clip? fiberglass trunk lid?

thanks
tim

I had looked into it some time ago & IIRC, the single biggest weight savings was to goto Glass doors with Lexan (or plastic) windows. This was followed by the Hood, Fenders, & then trunk lid. if you wanted to goto a complete Glass front end that would be a BIG savings, but that is a bit more work. Grape Ape has done that & I think that he has documented it on his web site. (http://www.grapeaperacing.com/GrapeApeRacing/).
