View Full Version : poor packing AGAIN
speed_m5 06-13-2012, 11:04:38 AM Got my NEW lower RS panel yesterday. Nice size box but poor packing on the inside. Box must have been dropped on one end because panel is bent. If I was not in such a hurry for this part I would have sent it back. Hope you all can do a better job packing this stuff next time. But hey I got a hat and a catog that was.packed very well in a separate box inside so all is good. Not
1972_Z-28 06-13-2012, 01:45:53 PM That sucks, company name? Hat and catalog makes me think Summit.
73Camaro383 06-13-2012, 04:09:33 PM ^,Really? He posted in the ground up forums section.. Dee dee dee.. :)
arick793 06-16-2012, 12:41:43 AM Rock auto sent my FOUR $80 exhaust manifolds because they kept getting broken during shipping. It was just an effin cast iron exhaust manifold inside a box that was way too big. It should be fine, it's cast iron! We don't need to put any packing material in! Retards. The money saved by shipping parts poorly goes pretty fast in replacement parts and lost customers.
arick793 06-16-2012, 12:42:49 AM Plus they covered the return shipping for each one, which had to be like $15 each. Come on guys! Go the extra mile and package things responsibly!

Exactly! How are they making money?!?!? After exhaust manifold # 3 (and week #3 of my daily driver being undriveable) I called them up very, very, very upset and the guy said he would make a few phone calls and make a note to make sure the next manifold was shipped with extra packing material. It wasn't. It actually came partially THROUGH the box during shipping, and someone somewhere along the way taped it back up. The last one made it to me in one peice, but the gasket was trashed, from having a manifold smashed against it repeatedly. I just got a new gasket from autozone, and I haven't ordered anything from them since.
Fbodywarehouse 06-16-2012, 10:25:47 AM I am sorry I had made a post and removed it "self edit"
I really wish the members would use a softer word in the sponsor sections,
We "sponsors" pay A LOT of money to have these sections to be able to communicate with you all on new parts announcements etc.
I think it is pretty lame the sections we pay for (this money is what keeps Nastyz28 running) is then used to trash us (sponsors)
I myself am very proactive on Nastyz28 but many sponsors are not able to be and many never know they are getting ripped on the site.
If you have an issue with a company call them work it out. Don't come on site and bitch-fest in the sections they pay to have. It shows a lack of character as in most cases they never know it is posted and hence do not respond
These type of posts really disappoints me as I know Nastyz28 is better then this
--- Edit (LOL spellchecked)
COPO 06-16-2012, 10:33:56 AM I'd send it back. Come on, it's 2012 not the 30's, it should be common knowledge how to pack right or the Vendors may loose customers.
Back in '73 I was working as a summer student in the GM Parts Building in Oshawa as a packer. All my orders went to GM Dealers with zero complaints. It's not rocket science. The packers need to be spoken to and maybe retrained.

I disagree... I think feedback is important, and the freedom of members here to applaude good service, and to report bad service is key here. If a vendor has issue with consumers badmouthing transactions, then the problem wasn't the member...or the site.
In my very personal opinion, buy ad space if you want an ad. Buy a forum if you are willing to bet your service is the best.
There's a company that I've heard countless bad reports over. The parts are great, but communication sucks. Some orders take a few days, and the owner is in constant communication. Then 5 others will report that it's MONTHS later and they couldn't get a single call back.
Because of the negative reviews I've seen, I will NOT even consider doing business with them.
-had to edit mine for crappy-phone-spelling too. ;)
whitesoxfbody 06-16-2012, 11:32:37 AM I see both sides here, but we hardly ever give an "atta boy" when things go correctly. But sweet mother of Pearl, we'll post a novel of how bad things suck. It's human nature I suppose.....
I used to working in a shipping department while in college 15 years ago. It isn't that hard to pack things properly. I could even make my own boxes out of scrap cardboard if we didn't have a correct size. I know I know, it's because of my college degree. :)
Marks71BB 06-16-2012, 12:47:20 PM Fbody----Spell check, all the professionals are using it ;)
It is what it is. Communication is key and if they are sponsors here they should check the site DAILY to address any complaints or potential issues.
Fbodywarehouse 06-16-2012, 03:53:33 PM LOL my IPhone at its finest
My point comes across clear enough I think. Our company is the exception as forums are a large potion of our business model so we check daily.
Look in Ground Ups section though and it is clear thry do not so posting like this is nothing more then a kick to the. Nads on them.
call them directly and speak to the owners and managers and provide them feedback.
Business owners CRAVE feedback I know we do. The person who honestly wAnts to give a company feedback CALLS them posting bitching about them in a place they obviously do not frequent only hurts the reputation EVERY company works years and decades to build.
My point is ponder prior to posting if you want to make something better call them and talk to the owners. If you simply want to bitch.......
Carry on

I tend to agree, the consumer obviously would want to resolve the issue and you're not going to get things handled biznatching to your internet buddies.
However, if said company is uncooperative in handling the issue, the GNAD kickings can continue via forum.
Now give me some free parts for all this life-altering advice I've shared.
Fbodywarehouse 06-16-2012, 06:58:53 PM LOL speaking of which tomorrow is fathers Day and I have been good!

Fbodywarehouse 06-17-2012, 10:05:26 AM Speed and Mark I am going to post something here in the overall sponsor section as I made a reply which I think warrants it's own post.

Looks like a factual post and a repeat offense to boot. He says nice box but, poor packaging and he hopes they will do a better job next time. He also points out that the hat and catalog are nice but, a good condition part arriving would probably be better. I see no bitching, just the facts.
I know sometimes we go nuts before even making a call. That is truly a BS move. Like FBW says, step back and think about what you are doing. Unfortunately, the forum is sometimes a last resort when nothing is being done and the vendor gets a deserved bashing.
I think if you sposor, you should at least show up to the party though. Having a section and not reading it but still taking the $ and selling your parts is half assed. We beyotches need attention!
My 2 pennies.

If the business is willing to sponsor a forum they need to understand that people will try and communicate with them thru it good reviews and bad.
If the business cant keep up with monitoring it then they should just place a simple ad for thier products which requires no further maintainence.

I want to know what "sponsors" vendors, or anyone who has poor service. That includes you.. If you dont want to be"kicked in the nads" then provide the service we pay for.. nuff said. Do I ever hear you complaining when someone makes a kudos to a sponsor in the sponsor section? I have also had issues with ground -up. The ship times are rediculous sometimes from them and also with year one.. If i want to say they have crappy service or ship times i'm gonna say it..
serpent710 07-23-2012, 09:16:06 PM Were else can you give fellow members a warning and a heads up if something is wrong or right, it should be here on the page they sponsor.
aarons1970rsz28 07-26-2012, 08:54:04 PM poor customer service, rude people on the phone, FALSIFIED discounts. The packing was bad, ok really bad. They would not take care of it so i contacted the manufacturer. They send me new parts in 3 days.
I had a fight with them for 4 months on billing. Easier to deal with Classic - bad but better.
