I got a Custom Autosound USA-230 in my car that gives 50Wx4 at 4 ohms. I got a pair of RCA speakers kind of like this:

They are 50watt at 6 ohm max power. I was wondering if I could splice the speakers into my rear speaker wires that feed my 6x9's. And put them in the trunk or back seats.

Would this lower the power output to the rear speakers by a lot?

I know it's redneck but it's all I have right now. ;)

It will drop the impedance that the amp sees by half, double the required wattage, and most likely burn up the output stage of the amp.

You could wire them in series, which would simply add the impedance of the speakers together, 4 ohms + 6 ohms = 10 ohms

While this wouldn't cause any damage to the head unit, it will lower the overall wattage of both the rear speakers and the accessory speakers. It should be adequate for a small tailgate party, if that's your plan. ;)

Actually, via the rules of electricity, when wired in series, the higher load gets the most voltage. I.E., the 6 ohm speaker will be louder.

This is what you would do, just to each individual channel.
