OK looking to get a game plan together for tunes in the Camaro. First thing I need to nail down is speakers, especially the fronts and the AMP kit so I can finish wire runs to rear of car and button up interior panels. Here is what I am looking at so far.

Amp Kit

Speakers Rear 6x9

Speakers Front 4"

I am wondering if it would be better to go with a round speaker in the rear or stay with the 6x9's? I'm planning to add a small 8" or 10" sub and small amp. Looking to stay under 1K for entire system for now. I want to hear the bass lines but have no interest in rattling the windows. I just want quality sound. The car has dynamat everywhere so hopefully that will help.

Also looking at this deck but may not spend this much...

^^ I have run dual coaxials in the center location in these cars and I do not find that to be an acceptable solution. Stereo soundstaging w/ two speakers in the center does not work.

Only way that works, As with my THX in my lincoln, is to have the center speakers and also some in the lower door location

That SUX because thats where I was planning on putting them. Maybe Ill mount drivers under the dash and place tweeters in the center pointing toward the front seats.

My exhaust is loud also.. However with my new A/C installed I can put the windows up and somewhat drown out the exhaust..

Yea I do too but sometimes the wife will be riding and gotta keep momma happy! And I'm putting Classic Auto Air AC in mine. So the windows down will be on cool to warm days only.

Now back on topic... where are you guys installing speakers if not center dash? I would probably be ok with drilling holes for tweeters in the cowl dash near the A pillars. IDK about putting big holes out there though, but may consider it.

BTW any comments on the Speakers in the links in first post? And weather 6x9 or 6-1/2" round would be better in rear deck?

How loud is your motor? I can't hear my stereo I just installed unless I have it above 35 on the volume. My exhaust cancels out all of the bass. The 6-71 blower whine kills the treble. <shrug>

Oh, and you are going to love that deck especially with the 3 line display for you iPhone/iPod. I have the cheaper version and it's a blast.
