I'll be moving again and after much thought, think its financially wise to sell one of my cars. I've decided to try the local SOCAL area before I hit the 'for sale' forum and go nationwide.
Specs are 70 Chevelle SS 396
- Now has Ed Hale built 454, 30 over. Forged pistons, studded bottom end, cast crank, balanced rotating assembly. 049 Heads, ported/polished, large valves 2.19/1.88.
Schneider Racing Cam - LP5H grind. Dyno'd on the breakin at 440hp@4800rpm, 500ftlbs@ 3000rpm. The guy said he needed to fix something on the dyno to get it to read below 3000rpm but he felt the peak was at 2800rpm and we were just seeing the down side. I think there is about 2500 miles on the motor (have to look). I had the motor built for the intention of running nitrous (never did). Have all receipts/dyno sheet.
- Rebuilt 12 bolt, 3.42 gear, posi. I forgot the name of the company that rebuilt it, but its the one that everyone goes to in Clairemont Mesa, San Diego area. I have the receipt at home.
- M20 4 spd, Hurst shifter.
- ALL new suspension, receipts
- Astro Blue, Black bucket interior. Nice. I believe this to be an original cowl induction option car. My friend stripped the hood to bare metal and said there was astro blue paint under the other layers. I do not have all the cowl induction pieces but all the flapper pieces are present.
- Rides & drives nice. I was building this to be a daily driver 12 sec machine with 11's possible if I decided to spray it. It could use some wiring cleanup and probably finishing up the aluminum radiator install. I ran out of time before I moved a few years ago and the radiator isn't mounted exactly the way I would want it.
- Currently has polished 16" trans Am GTA wheels with new tires. I know people are peculiar about their wheel choices and I have a set of plain ralleys and caps if the buyer would rather have that.
- The car is in storage in San Diego, I am in Hawaii so to see the car would require some coordination and planning.
- $16900
