I'm always amazed by what you guys can tell by a photo...it's like a forensic lab analysis posting a picture around here

So, I'd like to ask for some help...I read through the spotters guide but still have some questions.

Can you tell if it is a Berlinetta or an RS?

The '79 z's got a front spoiler, different hood, and fender vents, but...what are the other differences between the '79 Z and non-Z models?

Are the nose pieces different between '79 body styles?

Not much to go on in those pics. Appears to be the original paint, so its definitely not an RS. Don't see a Berlinetta badge on either side back of the door glass. No difference in urethane noses between models. The external radio antenna may indicate that its a more highly optioned Sport Coupe.

Z28 had black headlight bezels, Berlinetta had chrome. Those are chrome.
I'd bet it's a non-Z28
That with the different hood and fenders.
Got pics of the inside?

Mgoad - no, I don't have any pics of the inside but I am planning on going to look at it tomorrow. I know the Z's had the roped steering wheel, and the horn emblem. But, other than that, I don't know what the differences are between the interiors of the '79's.

Thanks Wayback - good news that the nose will fit Z's too. The guy is selling it as a roller - no motor or trans but if I can get it cheap enough, I might pick it up and part it out if it looks to be worth it and in decent enough shape. Not looking to make a fortune or anything but...give me something to do and I can probably pickup a few spare items for my car along the way.

Oddly enough, it does have the black striped 79 Z gas door emblem (I searched high and low for one of those when I was doing my '79).

Thanks guys...appreciate the help. If I get it, you'll see parts listed here first...seems like a lot of people are looking for the light blue interiors lately.

Sport Coupe, with custom interior.
Not a Z, not a Berlinetta, not an RS. Just a regular sport coupe.
The rear antenna indicates the car was ordered without a radio. Not uncommon during this era.
