I need to replace the driver's side torque box in my 70 1/2 because it's rotted away beyond repair. Before I go out on my search with salvage yards, can someone tell me what years have the same torque boxes as the 70 1/2? 70-73 are all the same I'm sure. But are the torque boxes also the same throughout the 2nd generation? In other words, is a torque box out of a '78 the same as the 70-73 and therefore compatible?

Dynacorn makes frame rails for the 70-73 Camaro but not torque boxes unfortunately. I've already spoken to them.

They do repop them because they come on the complete floor pan. I just don't know whether they sell them seperately. there was a guy in the swap meet section that had them for sale.

Thats what I assumed.I knew they at least made them for the floor they offer.

I think this might be it. There were no pictures just the description and part number.

From Cross Canada Auto parts.

This came up when I googled the part number.

They might be just the saddles(regional name?lol)that bolt onto the leaf spring before installation.
I think the torque box is the actual housing molded into the floor that accepts the assembly.

Hey Folks,
My 1971 RS/SS has a rear windshield contour that I have not seen on other camaro's. I purchased this car in San Jose, CA in 1975 (it's been garaged pretty much since). When you look at the car in profile, whether from the driver's side or passenger, it seems to have a sort of "bubble outward" profile. There isn't any defect to the glass that I can find. It doesn't seem to follow the normal (semi flat) contour I have seen on all others. Anyone know what this can be?

Thanks,
RDH

Hey,
Did you find your torque box yet? I just bought a pair(had to buy both as a set) from the Parts Place and only need the passenger side as mine was damaged in a wreck. If you need the driver side let me know and we can split the cost for the pair.
