Well I sold the 78 Z28. After getting into it, I realized the money I was about to dump into it, just to get it legal, then paint it was more than I wanted to spend...So I turned a profit and bought an 80 Z28 ready to go! It has a few things to fix but nothing huge. I did a little searching through old posts, but didn't find anything to help my problem.
Just as my 78 the new 80 Camaro has heating issues. The blower motor is good, all the controls sound to be working but still not blowing out the defrost of vents as it should. The only thing I have heard is cheching the temperature door to ensure it's sealing when it should, are there any other things to look into that may be causing this issue? Not planning to drive it when it's cold or rainy but sometimes you just get caught and I'd like to be able to see...Any help would be great, thanks!

A/C or non-A/C car?

Originally A/C however the compressor has been removed. Everything else is still in place.

A/C cars need all the vacuum controls and hoses in place that were connected to the vents to make them work. There is a good chance that whoever removed the A/C, also removed a lot of parts you need to have a working heater.

So where is a good place to start? Where can I get a diagram of what vaccuum lines are needed and placement?

Instead of replacing all of the missing vacumn lines you could try locating the vent door/flapper and either wire it shut or open, whichever is required. As long as the blower is working properly all you need to do is direct the warm air to where it needs to go. Unless of course you are toying with the idea of re-installing the facory a/c to get that "factory original" look...

I'm not planning to re-install it although the hot Missouri summer might change that plan, but I think wiring it shut would be the idea or open... anyone know which is required, Open or Closed to direct it to the defrost?
