$62,000?... that seems pretty high don't it? What's so special about it that it commanded THAT high of a price?

Well, I guess that particular buyer felt that the car was worth that. They had the money so they paid it.

You need TWO people that think it's worth that much at an auction

Yes....lucky seller :D , thats exactly what happened, TWO hardheaded people showed up especially to buy that car with all the money they needed , and both had committed themselves to buying it "NO MATTER WHAT" "its mine". The I'm not going home without that car attitude. Like thats the only one like it ever built

Formula : mix two or more competitive hardheads with a lot of cash

Equals = overpaying for a car.

and the new owner got the wrong fan shroud for 62 K dollars ?

I've noticed that the later it gets in the evening at B-J, the higher the price goes for just about everything. It probably has something to do with the free-flowing alcohol at the event........

Is this the car that was being discussed with the "incorrect" lower dash argent stripe??? Also, doesnt that look like overspray on the side of the dashpad? Maybe it's just a reflection in the heavy coating of shine goo.

I posted this somewhere else on the site but can't find it now. I probably put it in the wrong place and someone deleted it.

Thought I would share this with everyone.

These are ALL of the reported Z28s for sale at Barrett-Jackson this year in Scottsdale for model years 1979—1968

This link is to the auction page of the windshield card description and pictures of the car.

It is in descending order from 1st one sold to cars that have not yet sold.

If you have not been watching this on T.V. you may be surprised at the car with the highest price paid so far.

According to these prices the 2nd gen cars have definitely closed the value gap between the 1st gen cars.

If I were MusclecarJohn, I'd be strongly considering selling my stuff on BJ now.

Hell, this is all good news for all of us.
I'd love nothing more then for my value to skyrocket so I can sell it for a Z06 or ZR1 :bowtie:

Value of a dollar has dropped . It takes more dollars to have a car restored than ever. At a high end corvette restoration shop where I used to live, the going rate to frame off a mid year was 40-70 K , NOT counting the price of the car. They did about 5-8 cars a year .

30-50K for a nice car is a deal turn key ready to go. Its a major battle now on ebay for every nut and bolt to restore a car. Alot of those cars still sold for under the amount of money invested .or the amount it would require to pay somebody to restore a car like it to simular condition.
