You weren't too specific in your post. -ChevySalesman- 81CamaroNewbieSon 11-06-2004, 07:40:00 PM I'd be interested in both. I haven't seen any diecast models out there yet. I bought a scale model so far. Any info is greatly appreciated Mark Wright 11-07-2004, 09:44:00 AM I got the '79 Camaro model that was recently re-released. That's probably the one you're talking about, huh? You can build it one of three ways. I have a few Johnny Lightnin' and Hotwheels second gens. I have a very rare 1970 Camaro Z-28 American Muscle Diecast in 1:18 scale that I'll sell if anyone wants it! It's yellow with black stripes and has Cragar wheels on it. It is very limited edition to 1 of 2,500 made. It's still in the box in great condition! william 11-07-2004, 09:54:00 AM I have The AMT 70 Motion 454 camaro, and the 79 Revell 3 in one Z. Both unbuilt in the box. A friend got them for me from MICHAELS craftstore i think. Try there. zzzzz28 11-07-2004, 10:00:00 AM An ex girlfriend has mine.... promised to get it back to me but... you know how that goes. Anyway, I found another one (79z by revell) at Wal Mart, and the price was like $10.97.... and they had a couple of them. 'Lane' collectibles are even better. I'm amazed at the quality of the current diecast market. But, as most things nowadays, they are made in China. I have built scale models for over 30 yaears. I airbrush them, add photoetched details, buff them out just like the real cars, but who wants to pay $2,000 for a hand-made scale model? Not many. Go with a diecast if your're on a budget, but 1981 Camaro diecast models are difficult to find. A good hobbyist could modify any 2nd gen to look like an '81. Hope this helps, -CheveySalesman- ORANGE CRUSH 71 11-09-2004, 08:57:00 PM Does anyone have a 1/24 or bigger die cast split bumper that is orange with white stripes? Didn't mean to thread jack. I buy 2 or 3 diecast for parts and take them apart and paint them. I try to get them as close as I can to detail. If your interested, let me know. ram air dad 11-10-2004, 01:43:00 PM I have a red 70 Baldwin Motion 1-18th , a cturus green 70Z28,and a 1-24th Z28 model that I got from Hobby Lobby that I'm working on. Trying to make it just like my real 70 RSZ28(yellow, black stripes) .Have not seen the yellow diecast Z28. Would be interested in puchasing it if it's reasonable. calereeves 11-14-2004, 11:24:00 PM I'm actually working on a 78 Trans am model right now! Its a 1/25 Ertl Smokey and the Bandit car. 2nd one I've done...I'm thinking about doing all 4 generations of trans ams. 79CamaroMan 11-15-2004, 01:26:00 PM I have the original scale model of the 79 Z released in 1980 i think. i bought it off ebay before the model was re-released. It did'nt come with the blue stripes i needed so after finishing the engine and interior just like mine, and painting the body white after gluing and bondo-ing in the t-tops, i stopped working on it. Then one day at walmart i see my model. I buy it in hopes that it has the blue stripes, yes, it does. yippi! I still never got to it. I still did'nt like the roof so i worked on that some more then i moved away for collage and was unable to bring my model-making set up with me. 35TH ED/ed 11-16-2004, 01:22:00 PM Have you got this yet for the die casts: http://community.webshots.com/photo/44687522/127153007VLyxbz Its available at California Car Cover. When it comes up click on the "Skip To..." drop-down and then click on "Pics 11 and 12" to see my '79 Camaro MODEL i built last year. eightyZ28 11-20-2004, 10:30:00 AM That looks cool! I have the same model at home, just haven't finished it yet. I am going to try and make it look as much like my car as possible, although mine is an 80 and doesn't have t-tops. ------------------ my 1980 Z28 (http://www.angelfire.com/my/just4me/camaro.html) "Bad Ass Girls Drive Bad Ass toys" tom3 11-20-2004, 07:03:00 PM Like to mess with them too.
