View Full Version : Did someone say....Camaro diecast?
cadmanmeg 01-03-2012, 02:19:43 AM Yes, I have about 1,800 of them in various makes and all. Thought I would share some pics of them (all are in my office (everywhere). Sorry not the best of pics. Plus I am in the middle of re-organizing them. Can you tell I love Camaro's (not just real ones)?...lol
Created a link with big images on my domain so that you all can drill into these if you collect or want to. There are still many I do not have (this does not include all of the models, Camaro memorbilia, etc.... (thought would be probably double in numbers))...lol...
Anyhow, enjoy and please feel free to comment and/or ask questions!:

There has to be a twelve step program for that somewhere! Lol!
Very cool collection! So when do I get to see these in person?
B.M. 01-03-2012, 02:52:08 PM Very cool.I cant wait to show these pics to my wife, she never believes me that i'm not the only adult that collects what she calls "toy cars" haha. This should provide her with proof lol.
CDesperado 01-03-2012, 05:26:00 PM Wow. That's a very impressive collection! I was looking for Hot Wheels cars back in November - I've never heard of Johnny Lightning cars before... where do you get those? The paint jobs on these are awesome!

I agree the jonny lightning cars are very cool, they are more detailed as they are meant to be collector cars where as the hot wheels are marketed more toward kids, like that makes a difference haha they are cool too.Anyway you can find the johnny lightning cars at wal-mart and i have seen them at a few other stores as well, but the camaros seem to be hard to find so i pick them up on ebay when i find them at a decent price.
COPO 01-03-2012, 06:01:27 PM A Hot Wheels Hoarder. Nice.
azkeebler 01-03-2012, 08:29:18 PM And I thought I had most of the Hot Wheels Camaros. Sweet Collection!

cadmanmeg 01-04-2012, 12:08:16 AM I have been working on it for over 10 years. It is a lot of fun and I always need more space. Glad to have been able to share. And I too need more of the tin ones!

chev482 01-04-2012, 07:34:52 PM Like your collection. I have a small collection oh Hot Wheels, Treasure Hunt series, Johnny lighting. What I would like to find is the larger dicast 2nd generation RS SS or Z28. Do you know of a good web site?
Matt
spoonLT1355 01-04-2012, 07:58:40 PM I thought that I was the only person in the world that had those brown Hot Wheels Showcases !!
You are the first person that i've seen that has them.
Nice collection, mine is no-where close to that, but all mine are 2nd gen Camaros only. I like the way that they are displayed.
vtmv2007 01-05-2012, 02:30:23 PM Wanna sell any? I would love a blue with white stripes 24 scale diecast. The prices they ask on ebay are crazy
John w/2 Z's 01-05-2012, 05:39:27 PM Wow. That's a very impressive collection! I was looking for Hot Wheels cars back in November - I've never heard of Johnny Lightning cars before... where do you get those? The paint jobs on these are awesome!Johnny Lightning has been around for over 20 years and they do make one of the better representations of 1:64th scale cars.JL has though been in a funk ever since Racing Champions bought them but now seem to be slowly coming back.
I myself have over 2,000 Camaros that are diecast and plastic models.I use to collect muscle/exotic cars at first but that got quickly out of hand so I stuck with Camaros.

vtmv2007 01-05-2012, 08:50:24 PM You guys are nutz!!! lol
Vsolo 01-05-2012, 09:55:04 PM It all starts with one, then another cool one appears...... then another comes up.. it is amazing with the early 2nd gens, you never see them but there are over what 150 different 1/64. Until like 1997 there were like 3 of them.
I wanted to overhaul my Camaro back then but could not afford it, but I could find little ones to hold me over till I could get it overhauled.

I'm glad you shared... quite impressive... I think you have us all beat, and own the ultimate mecca of 2nd gen cars... :D
sbca96 01-08-2012, 04:08:32 PM And guys make comments about women's shoe closets ... ;)

cadmanmeg 01-08-2012, 04:28:52 PM Nice collection John. Maybe we can do some trades?
JL's are nice. They used to be better, but as mentioned, they have declined. When you get into the larger scales, they can be quite expensive, but the detailing on them is superb. It is a very fun way to supplement our real cars. And yes, I collect Ferrari's too....almost more of them then Camaro's.
Redline Rappe 01-08-2012, 04:48:38 PM Me too! 11 years of collecting

cadmanmeg 01-08-2012, 05:48:32 PM Those aren't Camaro's, but nice nonetheless...
rhinehart 1977 RS LT 01-08-2012, 09:32:10 PM I'm a Big Bumper guy so there aren't a lot of them out there. I have many multiples of the Johnny Lightning 1/64th. I am missing a couple White Lightning Variations. Mine are all in Protecto Paks and packed away in totes in the basement. Someday when the kids are gone I'll turn one of their bedrooms into my collection room which will include my Beer Steins too:) I might start collecting the Big Bumper Tins by Asahi......they seem to be very rare.
