Does anyone have one of these plastic kits, and have you put it together?Where can I find one?The wall-Mart in my area does not have.I just bought a Testors air brush and I want to try it out.

HA HA....glad I saw this. Just ordered one MYSELF.....along with that 70 Anniversary. It matches the SAME PAGE out of the LIFE magazine that I got off of eBay. The red one with the guy standing next to the 70RS with the ugly ass wheels. HA HA...I got a NICE collection there.

Now, to order the OTHER car I need ( the black SS ) and to send my Motion car off to be autographed by Joel. Dis be so cool bros.

The only problem I see with the kit is there are no instructions on striping the car and no decals for the stripes either. This should be fun! Uhg http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/frown.gif

I just got mine today and was very surprised that the decal was not there for the stripe or at least a template. Youre right this ought to be fun. If anybody comes up with an idea for the stripe please post

Where the h%ll have I been ? Gotta get one ordered ASAP.
This guy will end up selling like 1400 of these things to us BB members, think he's found the next Beany Baby, order about 8 million more and then go bankrupt cause we already bought ours.

Occassionally on eBay there are sellers with these decals. Here's one for example.... http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=429695432

I've e-mailed this seller and asked if he would be willing to sell some decals outright to those of us interested. I've gotten some regular Z28 decals from him and they looked good. I'll post when I hear back from him.

Dino you are the man!!!!!

The guy from eBay got back to me. He said he would need to charge $10.50 per set for black and more for white since it would take 3 print passes to print the white decals. He also told me that some areas on the hood and most of the rear spoiler would need to be spray painted since his decals don't handle curves well. If you look close at the picture on his auction, you can see the dull spray painted areas on the rear spoiler.

I also e-mailed Tom at tommytoyz and told him about the missing decals. He said he would ask his ERTL rep what the deal is. Tom also mentioned that he could get 1970 Phase III 454 Camaro decals made by Fred Cady for @ 5.00 a set. I told him to order me a couple sets and to see what colors are available. I'll post when the decals arrive.

For anyone interested I called and talked to Tommy at Tommytoys because I no longer saw the motion camaro on his web sight. He is out of stock and doesn't plan on reordering. Had to many complaints about the missing decals. To bad I wanted one regardless.

dinograz

This model was mass produced and is/was available in department stores and what not. When I was on vacation in Montreal, the Wal-Mart up there even had a couple on the shelves. As far as on-line, I haven't been able to find any other ERTL dealers that have this model on their web-sites...

PLEASE...someone keep me in mind when these stickers come in. I'm in for a set of black OR white, and possibly the Phase 3 set too.

Wayne, I had Tom order me a couple of sets so I could check them out. They're on @ 3 week back order form the maker, Fred Cady. As soon as I get them, I'll post here...

I put one of those together....but I painted it orange w/white z/28 stripes....to match my car....I went to a local hobby shop and bought fine pin striping so I could tape it off and get the right spacing between thick and thin lines...you may want to try the same thing for doing the motion scheme...

just my two cents!!

MikeD
09-27-2000, 12:22:00 PM
I would but there isn't even any plan views of the scheme. I don't know how the ransition from the sides to the rear goes. Anyone have pictures or drawings that show that detail?
