I am looking to buy an 97 Camaro SS LT4 Car. Its number 62/100 it has 30,000 miles but is spot less. The guy came down to $21,000. Im not sure but it seems a little high. I have always wanted an LT4 car, and would hate to be kicking myself in a couple years for not buying this one. What do you guys think?

Thats a little steep on the price, almost twice the NADA value with all the options. There are 30-40K mile 30th anniversary Camaro's selling on Epay for $9-10K. I dont think the LT4 doubles the value of that car but thats just my opinion...I could be wrong

I think it is worth what you are willing to pay. I also think you can not go by NADA or KBB on this. Its all about supply and demand. With only 108 examlpes built, you have to buy what you find.
What are you going to use the car for?
I know the car you are looking at, I would run a carfax or whatever on it. It looks like it's been wrecked in the front. The car has everything but T tops, which is great IMO.

Good luck with your search and purchase,

Jamie

How badly do you want it...if I had 20g cash in my pocket you could bet your ... I would not be purchasing an LTx camaro with it. You could buy 2 LS1 cars for that, really nice ones too. Then again last time I had that much cash I bought a Mercury Marauder with it and I'm sure a lot of people would tell me I'm stupid for doing that...

I had never heard there was an LT4 option for Camaros. Thats a new one on
me. I would research the HECk out of that, most probably wont believe it. As
for the Marauder, my dad bought a very clean 1996 Impala SS from a guy who
had bought a Marauder when they first came out. Later, he wanted to buy it
back from my dad.

There was actually 108 built.

100 for the US
6 for Canada
2 prototypes

I didn't know that any 4th gens had anything other than an LT1 (I had a 95 Z28) and an LS1 (I had a 99 Z28 and 00 SS)
As far as I knew the SS was just an option, still the same motor.
I do love the white and orange 97 though the best too.

I wouldn't pay over 15,000 for it, sure its rare but that does not justify that its worth 3 times more than a regular ss camaro

A lot if not all LT4 30th anniversary editions had white ZR1 wheels

After doing some thinking im gonna pass on the car. Maybe I will just spend less money and get a 30th Lt1 car. Thanks for all the info.

Or you could look for a 35 anniversary camaro those things look sharp.

Collector cars are hard to pick ahead, if you just want one to thrash around in
then look at a 1999-2002 SS. While I love the earlier LT1 powered version, the
car got more than just 35 more hp with the LS1, they also upgraded the fuel
tank and the brakes. I never had issue with my '93 Z28 brakes overheating
but my wife killed a couple sets of rotors on her '95 Z28. The '99 SS we got
her now is holding up nicely with the bigger brakes. The LT1 had more oomph
off the line, but the LS1 generates power nicely once it gets going.

The interior quality seemed to drop as the generation came to a close, and we
also noticed windshields got more and more distorted. Be careful of replaced
windsheilds, some of the aftermarket are like looking through a fun house mirror
and no, thats NOT an exaggeration!

There is a dealer in Syracuse, Summit Dodge, that has a 93 Pace car for $14900-ish. Low miles and loaded. Not that far of a drive and they've had it for awhile so you can probably do a little better on the price.
