Desire brought home a chicken for beer can chicken. It turned out to be a Godzilla sized chicken! Anyway, as normal, it turned out incredible! Steve has a recipie for it, and I think it may be posted here somewhere..But I found a pre-grill pic of it on my camera and thought I'd share...

You got a big green egg? I want one of those. Beer can chicken is awesome no matter how you do it. I've got a double can chicken cooker rack thing for my grill.

Hi, guys! Here is the recipe, and really the easiest, best way to do it, imho.. Also, you may remember a thread about brining chickens first. Brining the chicken no more than 24 hours in advance really makes the difference between a really good and a flat out awesome chicken!
The recipe for the bird is here...
http://bigtsbge.blogspot.com/2008/04/beer-bum-chicken.html
The brine recipe ( or one very similar to that we use ) is here...
http://beercanchickenblog.com/beer-can-beer-brine-chicken/
Sorry for the lack of finished product pics... I like the bird recipe because I also like the potatoes to roast in the chicken juices...
The Egg uses lump charcoal (essentially charred discarded furniture remnants, as I understand it), which gives this chicken the additional flavor of having been cooked over an open fire....
Not necessary to use the Egg, though, as you see in the 2nd link...
See ya!
