I was reading these threads here and noticed the intake cleaning one... and it reminded me that im putting an intake on.... but my problem is that i dont even know where to start looking to have it bead blasted to be cleaned... is there some sort of chain of companies that does this? should i check the yellowpages? where do i start? how much does it cost? or should i just paint it orange to match the block?
what do you guys think?

Look for stripping/refinishing shops in the phone book. Most will have some kind of blasting epuipment. You'll have to talk to them to see exactly what kind of stripping they do. Some do furniture, some auto parts, etc.. Also, try metal fab shops, or even machine shops. A friend did mine at his metal shop.

If it is aluminum, BE SURE whoever does it KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. If not careful, too much surface material can be removed. i.e. stamped numbers, markings, etc..

Also, clean it good before re-installing it. No matter how well it is masked off when blasted, the blast media will find it's way inside the intake.
