Nail polish remover makes an inexpensive small-parts cleaner.
The polish remover is actually acetone, and the most potent, least expensive stuff comes without scents or oils. It will remove bugs and tar from chrome and remove grease and oil instantly. Becareful around painted objects since it's a great paint remover too!

I don't have any first hand experience, but Iv'e been told that mayonaise does a very good job of removing grease and oil.

Maybe the Mayo does'nt really remove the grease, it just covers it up. Just a thought LoL

Busted...lol
Came from www.hotrod.com (http://www.hotrod.com) and yes it was the 50 tips and tricks section.
This site is about sharing info, so I share what I find from various sources. Just like all the other guys. I listen to the guys that fixed cars up for years, car shows, books, ect... Tons of info that not everyone knows. Especially new people starting to restore and fix up that special car. And there is always a new trick to learn thats makes things a little easier.
Hopefully they will come in handy, I know I have picked up alot tips from this site.
Thanks for responding...

Awwh,
I did not mean to bust you. I myself have reguritated good info from the car mags and shared it with people on this site. It just made me feel "deja vu" like because I knew I had heard/seen/read something very similar before. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

Nothing like a little deja vu....lol
Those magazines recycle all their information.. If you read about it five years ago, you may read about this year. And if its in Hot Rod, next month its in Super Chevy...lol
