I changed my shifter cable yesterday and I noticed the pin the cable goes on is worn about 2/3 of the way through. I am going to cut it off, drill a hole into the small adjustment plate. Then I will buy a Holley carb linkage pin and put it in that hole, cut off any excess from the backside, and weld it into place. Seems like a cheaper fix than obtaining a new shifter. Anyone try this before and more importantly, did it work?
