For those who were unable to attend the 2011 Camaro Nationals you really missed a good one!Not that the earlier ones were bad by any means, but the facilities puts Carlisle to shame.

Was great to see old friends and make some new ones!Had a great time and would like to thank all the wonderful ladies for keeping us well fed and somewhat under control!LOL!

Hell Freakin Yea!!

Frederick, MD is a great town! Me and Wayne found all of the hot spots Friday night in Frederick!

Plus I think me and Wayne know all of the Autozone, Advance Auto, and Harbor Freight in the 70 miles radius now! LOL

Great turn out. About perfect weather. Location was beyond exceptional, and the ACA & MCC put on a very organized and well run show. They have set the bar very high, but I have no doubt that future shows will even better!

EXCELLENT SHOW. Excellent weather, excellent people, excellent everything.
5 thumbs up and ditto on everything said above.

We made it home. around 10PM.
Julian is sitting upstairs on my couch. Mr. Stokkeland delivered him 30 minutes before we got in. He's been entertaining Kyle in the meantime.

The sidepipes are safely in the garage. I can go relax now.

As usual, I had an excellent time. This event caters to the attendee's. So it will be what we wish to make of it.

I'm going to get caught up with the board, mail, etc... I'll try and dump pictures and/or write a more informative review later. Unfortunantly, I wasn't able to video tape or photograph many of the cars with all the other stuff I was doing. I'm sure everyone else got plenty of photos.

Now that Julian is in the south, we're going to expose him to some hillbilly culture, so we'll be out & about continuing with the fun.

I stopped on my way out of the fairgrounds and complimented April and the club for an extremely well-run event.

It was a great show!!!! But... I'm not done yet.
Cal and I are holed up in Davenport, IA for the night. We should be home tomorrow afternoon.

We put 1000 miles on the Camaro today!

I just got home (midnight) after flying non stop from Baltimore............

As everybody above said, the show was exceptional.

To all the fence sitters who decided to stay home...I'm sure most of you will
find a way to change your priorities next year............ya think!!!!!!!!!!

A great show, well run and organized. Loved talking with the owner of the 67 with less than 10,000 miles on it...a super story.

Loved the location.....but that's mainly because, unlike many of you, I only live 45 minutes away.

I was surprised at how few third gens were in attendance.....had to have been less than 10% of the total.

This show could be a great case study for other organizations looking to get out from under Carlisle's thumb.

The only negative for me is I wish there had been more parts vendors.

As everyone has mentioned.. Carlisle was good.. Frederick was friggin' awesome!
Many, many thanks to everyone involved in putting on one of the most organized and well thought out shows I have ever attended...

I am already looking forward to next year.

After reading my first post it sounded like the previous shows weren't very good. That wasn't my intent at all.Karl and Rick always put on a great show and if it wasn't for them, this show would have died a long time ago!

What I was trying to say was that the change of venue really put a spark back in the show for me and I think most of the attendees. We have been attending this show since the very begining and have watched it grow over the years.Even watching the children of the group grow into young adults and have become good friends over the years, kinda heart warming!

Still had a great time, but that 4AM stuff has got to stop!Right Cal?

make an envelope up.. and stick 20 bucks in it every week. by next year you will have a good sized chunk of change to make the trip.

that's my plan for next year:cool:

Had a good time. Couple changes I would recommend, move the registration right up by the front gate entrance, and give an area for folks to park while they register, and allocate larger parking areas for the classes. It would have been nice to be able to park with the other 2nd gens, but Shane and I both ended up having to park on the opposite side of the vendors

BTW,there was parking in front of the registration tent.It seemed to get used for the overflow of cars that just showed up!

lol hey, we got there Friday, just couldn't register as they had closed up for the day, and who knew that by 10 AM saturday we would get sent to overflow lol

I'm sure registration will get fixed/streamlined for next year.
The show field was re-arraigned due to the unexpected flood of vendors who showed up friday/saturday. Due to this, the show field layout was altered to accomodate them.

Totally understandable. Shouldn't be an issue next year.

Even with that slight unexpected setback, it was still better organized then ever before

Again great time

Hats off to the Maryland Camaro Club+ the ACA for putting on a tremendous show with such little notice the first year. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but good things to say about the event. Shooting the bull with the Nasty family + friends is always a blast. IMHO it was light years ahead of the "other place", can't wait till next year.

That's what we do as well. If you can do it every week, and you start now you'll have over a grand just for the show. If you camp, which is cheap and has other "perks", that's almost enough beer money for the weekend ;)

One of the things to understand about the field layout is they need to keep the classes together so judges. This makes it hard to keep all the generations together. The place has a lot of space and now that they have an idea of numbers and how things go they'll be able to do an even better job next year.

Bud told us Saturday night at the hotel that the total cars was right around 400. That is incredible for a show at a new location and shows the passion that Camaro owners have for their cars and this hobby.

Carlisle was good and great at times but in my opinion the Maryland show was simple incredible. Can't wait until next year.

As for the vendors, I believe once the word gets out about Frederick, they will come next year.

Bravo Zulu to all who made this a memorable time.

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone!

I was at the Holiday Inn and it was very nice. Decent size room, good beds - they had recently done some remodeling and re-furbishing. And they didn't even bitch about the parties in the parking lot!

I talked to Bud tonight and we had 398 Camaros! Not bad for a change of venue.... I was truly humbled that so many Camaro owners and afficianados jumped ship and came to the Camaro Nationals instead of the "other place". I'm sure there will be some tweaking and pulling done to make the 14th Annual Camaro Nationals even better than the 13th! The members of the MCC REALLY stepped up and rolled up their sleeves to make this one come off as well as it did. A very heartfelt "Thank you" to all those who participated.

April, you guys did a great job of getting this all together. I think Frank said it best somewhere here...the renewed energy that everyone had just made this event one of the best ever. From the MCC, the judges, the fairgrounds staff, the vendors, to all the Camaro owners/families and spectators - everyone just seemed to be having a good time. I know Kim & I did!
Thanks!
