I have a friend who has a 1973 Camaro Vin # is 1Q87H3NV71, The number stamped on the front of the right side of the block is T0426CMA, a number he can see on the back of the block looking down at the motor ( it is in car) is 397004. The motor may not be original, but maybe, the guy who built the motor made it a 383 stroker motor. He would like to know if they restamp the front ID number when they rebuilt the engine. I always was told that if the number starts with a T it means it would have come out of a Pickup. Any help would be helpful, thanks Glen.

T at the start does not mean truck, it means Tonawanda, as in New York, the Chevy engine plant location

T in the 3 letter suffix means truck

your CMA is a 1974 Camaro 350ci, at, tb

not to butt in or anything, but my dad was tonawanda plant man and probably had your pistons pass through his hands back then.
