I have a Norwood car with no z28 marked on the cowl tag. It has the correct gas pedal, 6500 rpm redline tach,and rear swaybar mounts for a Z. Also the title has the original price on it and it is consistent with a z28. It has a clutch pedal and pwr steering/brakes but no other options. What are the chances of it being a legit Z28? thanks Mike

After doing a frame off on a 1970 Z-28 recently, I would say anything is possible. Does the car have the correct 12 bolt rear ? Is it date coded correctly ? Does the car have the original motor ? Does the car have any of the other Z-28 only parts unique to a Z-28 ? Whe was your car built ? Is that an early 1970 car ? You can probably find some more tell tale signs but the rear and the motor are key pieces plus the control arm bumpers. It does sound like it is possible. LT1Z28 Cliff K.

If it's a early Z it should have 28.10 and later car 28.19

Jack as you indicate, my car which is a 2C car has 28.10. My only point is it might be possible for a missed stamp but certainly very doubtful. I guess there could always be a first. Regards LT1Z28 Cliff K.

I thought Mike was looking for an actual Z28 stamped on the trim tag. I agree about anything is possible.

Thanks for the responses. The cowl tag is def. original. The car's build date is 05D. The spot where 28.19 or z28 is indicated is blank. This car has been a strip machine for years,so the rearend and drivetrain stuff is long gone. That's why I mentioned the odd stuff like the gas pedal. The car is for sale and I just wanted to see what the chances were that it could be a legit Z. thanks again
