I dug out an old carb and manifold off of an early 70s Z. Not sure if the carb is an original match to the manifold. It is a Holley 600 with electric choke. The list # 6619-1 and below this is date code # 0976
The manifold casting # is 3959594. I think the assy came off 71 Z Not sure where to find the date code on the manifold. The car was sold in Canada, if that helps.

I'm not sure about the manifold, but the carb is not off any Z28. They came with a
780CFM, not a 600.

The manifold is correct for a 71 or 72 Z28.The date is located close to the distributor hole.

Somebody knows there Z's! So greg /you mean to say that 1971 and 1972 Z28 Camaros had 780 holley carbs?

Yes, all of the 70-72 Z28's had a 780 CFM carb from the factory. They all had a different List and P/N for each year and for either a A/T or M/T car. Starting in 73 they went to a Q-Jet with a cast iron intake.
