Anybody have the info to decode transmissions? I have looked at the info on this site, and I can't find it to be of any use.

Anyhoo, for the question...I have these two TH400s and I need to decode them. I just don't have to means to do it. Here are the codes:

1)

18D131693 (this was found on the LH side above the oil pan)

And on the tag: 321 and below it CD-68-106416

2)

23P298119 (above the oil pan LH side)

Tag: 73-P2G-1207

I have noooo clue how to decode this.

D - Doraville GA final assembly plant for car
131693 - Last 6 digits of cars VIN
Doraville was building full Chevey size cars during this time period


And on the tag: 321 and below it CD-68-106416

CD - C=Chevrolet, D=327 engine usage
68 - 1968 Model year
160416 - serial number for trans

2)

23P298119 (above the oil pan LH side)

2 - Pontiac Division
3 - Model year 1973
P - Final assembly plant is Pontiac Michigan
298119 - Last 6 digits of cars VIN

Tag: 73-P2G-1207
73 - 1973 Model year car
P2G - P=Pontiac, 2G is engine usage (don't have this info.
1207 - trans serial number
