I close as I can tell, your # is 1708028, that is:
170 = GM carb prefix
80 = 1980
2 = 49 state emissions
X = I'm assuming this is where the digit is left off as 8 doesn't make sense here. Should be a 0,1,or2 for Chevy
8 = Auto transmission
For better explanation of Q-jets, go to the bottom of this homepage and click on Stegmiller. He has a lot of info.

I checked the numbers again and it is 17080282.
Does that makes any sense ?
Let me know! Thank you

According to the decoding stats at Stegmiller's camaro site, the 8 there doesn't make any sense. However, I'm no pro at decoding either. Maybe one of the other guys can help further.

This a 1980 (1708) and up carb but the number is not listed as a GM part in any of my references.
Unless you have the numbers wrong or they are not the carb number but a carb parts, its a dead-end. btw-The AC Delco master parts list I have does not list that number.
I can find a 17080292 being a 1980-82 350 truck carb?

17080292 That would make sense because my block is a 4 bolt main from an 80-85 truck.
Can I get more info on that carb?
Thank you!

Only other info given for that number; used with Air conditioning. Used in 1/2 and 3/4 ton 2WD & 4WD, Balzers and K10 trucks in Canada.
As for spec's, don't have any but I would say this is a piggy emissions carb and not built for performance.
