Do you happen to know the comp ratio?
Also Can you post the vin& engine pad #'s from the 79 you posted about?

Well, I can tell you that the 327 block # you have indicates a '64-'67 block. I need the engine suffix code located on the right side of the block (it will be a 2 letter id) before I can give ya any more info. Keep us posted!

The right side of the engine as you looking over it from the hood or the right side as your sitting in the car? Also, how big are these two numbers? Thanks will post them ASAP,

The right side as you are sitting in the car. Its behind the alternator in most cases. Theres a pad in front of the head usually 2 to 4" long. One is 8 characters starting with a letter & ending in probably 3 letters (suffix code) The other will be 9 characters & match your vin # if its a # match car.

Okay well i looked behind that alternator and there does seem to be a pad there...its smoothed though http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/frown.gif. Hopefully thats not it but ill double check again today with a flashlight. The VIN number on the car is 1Q87l9n509974 for anyone who wants or needs to know. Thanks,

Couldn't find an M suffix. This would be an early engine if only a single digit, say a 62. Would have been a 250 HP with small four barrel, or 300 HP with the camel hump heads and AFB carb. The 210 and 275 HP engines were later versions. Could be a truck engine? The early 327s were pretty darn good engines.

Is this stamped on the front part of the blcock in front of the righ (pass) head ?

V05I5M is misread, go and take another look and see what you come up with.
V - Flint Engine Plant
05 - May
15 - Day
5M - Non-existant code, should be 2 letters or possibly 3 depending on if the engine is dated after 1970.

That last letter must be an E. Looking it up those engines had a 2 letter suffix code, and it most resembles an E http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif. Means it was originally a 2 bbl 210 hp with powerglide. Im thinking of putting it on a dyno now just to see what kind of power its making after all these years.

Thanks guys,
