I was reading the topic below and I was wondering is there any place(Like a certain GM place)to get a copy of my buildsheet by sending my v.i.n. to someone?I am sure it would probally cost some $'s but it would be definitly worth it.Thanks for the input.

GM of Canada kept records for the cars that were sold in Canada so you can get that information from them.

GM has insisted for years that no information like that exists for US cars, but just a month or so ago, it appears they are changing their story. Apparently they do have some of that information and are compiling it on computers where it is becoming available.

From what I understand, it is not yet available for a 1971, but some of the newer cars now should be documentable.

Your best bet is if your car happens to be a car built in LA, in which case, it most likely at one time had one or more copies of the build sheet stashed in the car somewhere.

Look under the driver's seat cushion. You should be able to feel it with you hand if it is there. Then pull the rear seat (back rest) out of the car and look in the springs on its backside. The other likely place there might be one will be on the top of the gastank.

If it is a Norwood car, you probably are out of luck. Norwood apparently had a good janitorial dept. They swept them up and threw them away like they were supposed to.
