I took off my back seat and found a stained, yellowed printout that is my build sheet. I feel like IndIana Jones holding some antient relic written in some lost language.

I dont know if anyone gets into this, but I have a low number on my VIN, my car is 100784, I'm not sure if those are more saught after than others.. maybe 100001 would be important, but I bet its at a GM warehouse somewhere.

I'd like to know what my Job Sequence number means 001299 and box 10 my sched no date which is 18-1299 with 8-22 underneath it.

the other thing is box 107.

does my car have all that stuff, or just the stuff with an * before it? for instance *AK1 DLX BLT&SH HA

some other interesting text is typed under the options in box 107

"ZN PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT SHOW FOR 1981" what does that mean?

thanks!

The build sheet information was different from year to year, but some of it can be translated.

I'm guessing on some of this, but I think that Job Sequence Number 001299 means it was the 1299th car assembled that day.

8-22 is probably assembly date (August 22), which would correspond with an early VIN car.

Everything listed at the bottom of the sheet should be on your car. The build sheets listed only options installed on the car they were meant for.

I'm guessing that the "ZN PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT" thing indicates that this car was one of the first 81s sent to the dealer for the new car show date held usually around mid-September each year. I don't know if it means the car got any special options or now. About the only way to be sure would be to compare it with a similarly equipped car that was made later in the year.

It might be a paperwork thing only.
