I have a distributor from a 69 307 motor which I think is numbers correct. I found a matching numbers 69 block for my car but it had a mallory unilite in it. I'm thinking of rebuilding the distributor from the 307 for my 350 but first I want to be sure it is the correct part for my application. The first few digits were hard to tell but I think the numbers off the dist are
N18168 3E14
Anyone have a Chevy by the numbers book or an online pointer as to where I can look this up?
Thanks,
Gregg

Point type Delco distributor part numbers were 1110xxx thru 1112xxx with a few rare exceptions.

Assuming this webpage is correct.
1110168 was for a 6cyl dizzy. 1111168 and 1112168 were for 8cyl.
3E14 is the date code. May 14th with the decade ending in 3. Most likely 1973.
The 3 could have been mistaken for 8.

1111168 was used in 1967 and 1968 on 350 295hp motors. So that's a possibility.

About halfway down the page it shows the 1112168 on a 1973 350 145hp. The most likely possibility.

Assuming we are talking '69 Camaro here the correct number would be 1111481 for all 307's. So even accounting for a misread due to poor stamping I'd say you don't have the correct distributor for your car. FWIW - that same number is used for 307's in Nova and Chevelle.

Thanks to both of you. Yeah, it is not the correct distributor for the 307 much less the 350. I went back out and checked it out under a shop light after seeing some of the possibilities that swerven put up. The correct answer is here:

1112168 just looked like N18168 when I didn't know what number sequence to look for. Someone put a 73 distributor in my 69 before I bought it. More than that someone put a non-original 1969 307 with a 73 distributor in my car before I bought it.
Anyone have a 73 they are restoring and need this distributor? Anyone have a 69 datecode 1111488 distributor or know where to find one?
Thanks again,
Gregg
