I just bought a 1972 RS-Z/28 and on the trim tag in lower right corner is a code of DX8. Does anyone know what this is??
Thanks for the feedback on my question. I found it was not DX8 it is DX3 which was stripe delete!

Gm Camaro parts book 70-76 calls out dx4 & dx9 as a tape -accent stripe for production options. The 72 camaro specs info states a dx3 and that was not to be promoted-customer convience only.Hope this helps,Rick.

could those numbers be DX3? DX3 is the RPO code for stripe delete, although never advertised by Chevrolet, you could delete the stripes and order special colors in the early '70's. Chris

Good point, Chris77. I knew that code sounded familiar. I just couldn't place it.
Steve, check the code again. I bet it's DX3, not DX8.
