$100 each for new 906 bare vortec heads. I think I am gonna get a pair of these tonight, too cheap to pass up. They are already screw in stud AND normal SBC intake pattern

Lot of flags there for me. No returns, they are not 906 castings, made in Australia - I doubt it...
No returns would be enough to make me pass. IMHO

for the price "how bad could it be" Enginequest is a known brand, if I pick them up I'll report on them

I just bought a pair of these, I couldn't resist for the price, I will post back what I think of them when they come in, since I will be touching up the seats and measuring valve guide to stem clearance before assembling them myself. I will use the Comp guide and seat cutters if necessary to run a .530" ID positive stem seal on the intakes only, umbrellas on the exh. If I'm lucky these are already machined for greater than stock lift, I would think so but if not I will also use the comp tool to trim the guide height down.

I did it, I got these $100 each vortecs, and they look amazing for the price. The castings are clean, consistent, the machine work and fit looks really nice so far. Guide to stem clearances are great. I will check the seats against a set of new stainless undercut valves when I get them and I can touch up or adjust the valve seats as necessary @ home here w/ stones but they look really nice. I will spin the new valves in my refacer to verify runout, back cut them, and aside from any seat adjustments needed if any, run these as is, I am not going to touch them with a carbide other than a few very minor spots at the base of where the bowl hog stopped. The bowls themselves I am not gonna mess with.

So you can use these with the early style intake manifolds?

$275 bare, shipped seems good if they give you the performance of Vortec heads without having to swap intake manifolds on top of the cost of the heads. :D
Could you keep track of your total cost on these heads (valves, springs, retainers) so we can compare to the price of assembled GM Vortecs?
THANKS!

Yep. Its going to be well under $500 assembled, I ran the math the other day w/ the parts I am going to use. And yes, you can use these with the early style intakes.
