Here are a list of casting/stampings I have found on different components of my '71 Z28. I believe them to be original to the vehicle but I could be wrong. Some are difficult to trace. TRANS: P1C11C + VIN (Muncie)
REAREND: CGCO384G (373? POSI)
CARB: LIST 4801-1 (780 HOLLEY)
INTAKE: 3972116 (ALUM. HIGH RISE)
EXH. LH: 3989041 casting number
EXH. RH: 3972780 casting number
HEADS: 8(?)33892 kinda hard to decifer but both have same #
BLOCK: V0802TJZ This is what I can't find, Tibetan scud launcher tow vehicle? Barbie Corvette? Thanks.

The Muncie is probably original if the VIN matches the car.
The CG rear is a correct 3.73.posi.
The 3972116 intake should be a Chevy parts replacement sold over the counter. It is the same casting as the 3972110 used on the 70 Z28.
I can't find a match on the heads, but the TJZ block is probably a rebuilt truck engine. Most if not all Txx coded Chevy blocks come from trucks.

They are not the correct heads that is for sure.

Possibly one of the previous owners detonated the original engine and replaced it with a junkyard truck motor. I guess it is now an extremely rare Z28 El Camaro. Thanks for your time and the info, I will most likely go for a non-matching numbers restore. The VIN on the trans does match the car though.

Hi,
Sorry about the late comments, but as the previous guys are saying: block, heads and intake are not original. But don't worry, although the numbers have gone: It looks you have Muncie M22 rockcrusher and thats something! Doublecheck the numbers and gears from:
