I have a 72 Z28. According to my protecto plate I should have a 3.73:1 rear axle. After driving the car I turn about 3,000 RPM's at 62 MPH this seamed right to me. After investigating Camaro's more I found that 71 was the last year for the 12 bolt and you guessed it I have a 12 bolt. So now i'm investigating the rear axle. The date code on the differencial is 67890 and the codes on the left(pass side )tube are as follows. C 07 060SG1
E
I'm not 100% sure on the 0 before the 7 or the S. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like you have a 1970 Camaro rear.
Could the number be COZ0608G1E. If it is it decodes as:
1970 Camaro
COZ=3.73
06=June
08=8th of June
G=Detroit gear
1=shift
E=Eaton Positraction
The numbers you gave as a casting date code are not the casting date code. Above the numbers you gave you will also find a 12345 and above those numbers, close to the brake line mount you will find the casting date code. Look for a number that starts with a letter something like E 26 0. The build date of your rear is very close to mine.
Hope this helps.
