I found a 12 bolt rear (leaf spring) and need help figuring out what it came out of.

The passenger side front axle tube has the following information:

C BS 0211G2
E

The spring pad center to center distance is about 42 and 3/8s

The distance between the back of the axle tube flanges is about 53 and 3/4s

Any help would be appreciated.

I'll take a stab at this:

The rear end is narrower than a 2nd gen rear end. (55.25" flange to flange, 45 3/8" between the spring pad location.)

It's not from a 2nd gen camaro. Looking at the 69 Camaro - it came with a rear code of BS - which is a 3.31 locking rear end. 1968 also used a BS rear (same ratio).

I'm guessing you have a 1968/9 3.31 posi rear, the coding on the axle you give show it to have a chevy posi in it.

Thanks for the help.

I was also curious, what is the overall axle shaft lenght for a 10 bolt and 12 bolt for second generation Camaros. Is it correct that a 10 bolt is 28 spline while a 12 bolt is 30 spline?
