Sallee Chev can get you a new one for $1850, plus $150 or so to ship, depending on your location (they shipped mine from OR to FL, and that's how much, so that's probably the worst case).
Here's a setup for $1500, but I'd think you could get a used one for less than that.

And to be honest, don't be afraid of the '93 model with the 2.97 first gear, and .62 6th. I wouldn't be- it's the same ratios/internals as used in the Z06 Vette.

The trans comes from the factory (i.e. Sallee) with the bellhousing. The shifter stub as well, but no the full stick.

It also comes filled with fluid. Imagine my surprise when I up-ended it to look at something. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/smile.gif

The lower torque rating on Sallee's trans is likely because it's a 93-spec unit (I'm talking P/N 10236021). 2.97 1st gear, which lowers the torque rating slightly. As I said, I wouldn't sweat it too much, particularly if you don't intend 5000rpm launches on slicks.

I bought everything new, and I got it all from Sallee. I have part numbers on my website.

Todd, How much was the master cylinder assembly ? I saw they also have the 94-97 unit aswell is this what you got? Also one last thing waht did you use to mount the master cylinder and how is the clutch pedal set-up?

The 94-97 Master/slave assembly was <$100 when I got it. That's both cylinders, the line, and the reservoir, all together, filled and bled. It comes that way factory.

I just bolted it to the firewall below the power brake booster. Not the best way, and I didn't get the optimum angle, but after 8.5 years and 40K+ miles, it's still working just fine. If I were messing with it today, I'd do a bracket to make sure the rod is straight from the clutch to the master cylinder. Some guy (West Coast connection???) makes such a bracket for just over $100, IIRC.

Stock 2nd gen clutch pedal, and you want to attach the rod 2.0" down from the pivot point.

The master cylinder has an included rod that bolts to the pedal, in the location I specified. If you mount the master cylinder correctly, they will line up. Otherwise, they won't.

Sorry about digging up an old post, but do you have any pics of how you mounted the master cylinder to the firewall?

Yeah, too bad I already have the LT1 T56, and the adapter fywheel from McLeod to bolt it up behind my 482. So, does anybody have any pics as to how the master cylinder needs to mount up to the firewall?
