I just bought this car a couple of weeks ago and now am trying to install a radio. When I went under the dash there is a mess of wires and I figure it will be a lot easier to just run new ones that way I will know what wire goes where and if in the the future I need to do some modifying I can do it without having to guess which wire is which. I am installing a pioneer unit and I know the red (ACC), yellow (Battery 12V), and the black is ground. My question is do I run the red to the fuse box and the yellow straight to the battery or vice versa. I have installed a radio before, but not from scratch like this. I also have heard that you can also run both yellow and red to the fuse box, but will this work. Anyone who might have some ideas and please I am not the greatest radio installer be very specific cause I am new to this. Any help would be appreicated.

Your red is going to be your hot to the fuse block. Yellow will be a memory most likely. That will save your settings on the head unit. The red only needs so be hot when the key is on. You want the yellow to be hot all the time.

Yellow to "Batt", Red to "IGN" at the fuse block.

In addition to the above advice all power circuits should be fused, inline off the box what ever you chose just make sure it has one. :)

I had that same problem with mine. I had a big rats nest of wires. one way to to tell whats what... take a battery like for an electric drill or somethin... and touch it to the speaker wires. it will make a little bump sound... thats how you can figure out what wire to what speaker. I also couldnt find any power sources for mine. I counsidered splicing from the cigarette liter, but I had no power there as per my test light. So I went to AZ and boght these little fuze things you can just add to the wire.. .and I wired the power straight to my fuzebox. worked out fine for me.

Marcos,
How did you mount the deck to the dash?
