Looking for a little help on a 73 window adjustment. Installed aftermarket electric windows. They go down great but the windows get stuck about half way when they go up. Window is lined up good front to back and is positioned well in the channel on top. In the manual read something about "inboard and outboard" adjustments. Is that the problem? If so, can someone explain to me how to make those adjustments?
Thank you,
Style, 73 LT/RS

I have a magazine article at home that goes into great detail on the window adjustments. If I can remember I will try and grab that and bring it to work, so I can pass along the info. I know that there are a ton of adjustments that can be made to the window. It does sound like maybe you have a few more to make. I am no expert, I think I got lucky and got mine to seal up pretty easily after installing new weatherstrip.

Kathy,

Sorry, I keep forgetting to get out to the garage and grab the magazine. I will be in there tonight, though. I'll have the info soon. Just wanted to apologize for leaving you hanging.

Are they physically hitting something or just not going up all the way. Are you sure they are not catching the wires. Or are they just tight at the midpoint.

I would like to see that as well if you dont mind. Mine do the same but are manual. if i roll the window up with the door open then close it they seal fine. Cant roll them up with the door shut though. They stop about a half inch form the top since I have replaced the weatherstrip. It is annoying.

OK, so I have it in hand. There's a 3 or 4 page article, first page is text, then lots of pictures and a diagram of the different adjusting points. Maybe I will need to scan and e-mail, since my typing skills aren't really that great. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif Unfortunately, stuck working OT tonight, so I might not be able to get after it just yet. Hopefully it will be of some help, after all this time. I'll post back once I've got something that I can share easily.

Steve,
Could be getting stuck on the wires will check that. Have wires wire tied to the door but there could be a loose one.

"HPBooks" has a Camaro (67-81) Restoration Handbook by Currao and Sessions that is full of information and pictures ! It has the steps on how to adj windows and you can probably figure out your "binding" problem.

Go to www.beaconfx.com (http://www.beaconfx.com) and type in keyword "restoration" and that book (HP 758)is available for $13.95 + whatever !!

Just a post to let the few of you that have contacted me know that I will try and get some scans done and passed along shortly. Recently finished up a big push at work, and now have some free time once again. I will e-mail to everyone else that has asked. I hope that it will be of help, eventually.

I just scanned the pages from the Fisher Body Manual. I'm going to have to put all of the glass in my 73 so I need to find out what works myself.

I used that exact text, I think the biggest thing is to get the window paralell across the whole length of the window FIRST. Good luck to all who are struggling. While this part of the project was time consuming, I did not think it was that bad.
