Has anyone ever purchased an aftermarket 78-81 radiator core support from a company called the Chevy Parts Pro? I've talked to them and they do in-fact have them. They told me they were made in Taiwan. I'm afraid to buy one because none of the major camaro restoration catalogs carry them. Any thoughts?

Salvage yard one if your afraid of those offered by them. I'm sure you can find one and you can clean it up to look like new.

I've already looked at my local salvage yards with no luck. I bought one off of eBay but I'm not real happy with its condition. Some of the captive nuts have broken loose and the right side is a little bent.

Here's two other places to try:

Midwest Fender, Columbus OH (614)751-3100

or

www.shermanparts.com (http://www.shermanparts.com)

I contacted both companies over the summer and they had them in stock. I don't know if they have the ones trimmed for A/C hoses, but that wouldn't be hard to correct with a hole saw and nibbler.

Sorry to dig up an old topice, but I'm wondering if swance had any luck. I'm looking for a support for my 80 and when I check out the Chevy Parts Pro it shows the part, but it's the part # for the 70-73. HELP PLEASE!

I had no luck finding a new one. You are correct about the core support on chevy parts pro web site. I found out the hard way and ordered it, but to be fair they returned my money and let me keep the part even though I can't use it. I did find 2 used ones. I cleaned up the better one of the two and used it.
