Looking for a cheap alarm. All I really want is key less entry, and monitor the door pin switches. A secondary channel to pop the hatch would be nice. Is there a place online to grab something cheap? I see some pretty cheap stuff on eBay. A couple with a pair of door lock actuators for less than $100. OK deal?

Any suggestions???

Anything made by DEI (http://www.directed.com/Products/Security/Default.aspx) is quality.
Avital (http://www.avital.com/products/), Viper, etc.

Are you doing the install ?? You want 1 way or 2 way remotes ??
If not, you're at the mercy of what local shops are going to carry.

I pulled too many out to let a random dude install it in my car. Lot's of butcher work.

I have a Clifford G4 but no remote. I'm not looking for anything high dollar. Mostly want the keyless entry. Budget is king. Some white box cheapo will work.

Pisses me off I had at least ten I pulled out of traded. I ditched them all when I moved. Same with the relays. :(

Oh wait......do you need the door actuators too ???
Is this for your Camaro ?? If it is, this is what I'm doing too.
I'm going with the door actuators from A1 Electric and the Avital system.

This is where I started.....
http://www.a1electric.com/keyless-entry.htm

You can click on the options with 2 door complete kit and if you look down
you'll see there are ADD ON's for a trunk solenoid for $25

I shy'd away from Ebay's cheap chinese actuator crap

I sold that Camaro over a year ago Ace. It's for my Nova. Thanks for the link.

Bogus.....I must have forgotten that.
Cool, good luck.

BTW - They sell their actuators separately if you want a better alarm.

I pulled a nice clifford alarm out of a ghetto car at the pull a parts, the harness was still in great shape, nothing looked burnt or corroded, and at one point the alarm was most likely installed by best buy or something with the abundance of wire taps. I got everything I could including the windshield mounted antenna.

Point is, I picked up a new transmitter off ebay for $20 so i know you can do the same with your clifford alarm. I'll have to look but I think mine was a G4....I paid $5 for it at the pull a parts.

When I had my dash harness laid out I integrated the alarm wiring into it so when i do install it back in the car the alarm is plug and play

All the remotes I find are $30-40. I still may go that route

I got mine around January, it says for the G4 alarm on it. It was close to $30 w/ shipping...came from a place in texas.

agreed, i work for the largest DEI retailer in the country and have seen alot of other brands out there and nothing is more reliable dont be cheap on an alarm i know from seeing customers try and be cheap it costs you way more in the end
