I was just curious to know if anyone knows of a car that uses a driveshaft that measures 45.5" ( what i would need my stock one cut to) that I could just swap?

Also, after disconnecting my driveshaft from my rear, i tried pulling it out of the tranny and it wouldnt come out.. What's up with that? Should it be in neutral & not park or something? I mean i was pulling and it wouldnt come out for nothing.. And I've removed driveshafts b4 and they should slide out with ease once disconnected from the pinion yoke.. Any idea?

Lastly, When I go to move the crossmember, how hard are those bolts to get to and remove? Is it just worth paying $150 for a conversion crossmember from BowTie Overdrives that bolts in the stock location for the new tranny?

Thanks

Don't know why your drive shaft won't come out. Mine just pulls out, does not matter if in nutral or park. As for the cross member it is no problem to use the old one. I had a th350 in my second gen just move it back one hole and drill a new one. Not hard. I did buy the one from BowTie Overdrives and it did not even fit in between the frame rails. If it did I still would not have been able to use it as my exhast would not have fit. email or call for questions

Might need a prybar up in there. They just slide out - unless the driveshaft was put on dry.

Without any lube. It should typically lube itself thereafter unless there is a problem with the way the trans delivers oil to the tail stock. Or it sat for a long time.

Awesome.. Thanks alot for that link.. I actually printed out that info when that thread was going on & Todd got all the P/N's.. But then lost it.. As for the driveshaft, then I should be able to go to a junkyard & pick up a stock driveshaft from a Mustang, swap u-joints and be ok.. Right? I dont have the cash for the aluminum one right now, but if all works out, I will pick it up in the future..Thanks again.
