I bought a nice 79 back in September and it came with quite a bit of paper work. The cam mentioned is a MHP 22210 224/224 dur 300/307 lift and a 19?-298. Don't know how good those numbers are but that is what is scribbled next the part number. Engine is .30over,performer intake, holley 650, turbo 350 with a 3.42 posi going in this week. Heads look pretty stock, motor is 350 out of a 75 camaro. Any insight and suggestions to tweak this setup will be much appreciated. Thanks

Id be willing to bet that its an old melling copy of the L82 chevy cam, and the lift measurement you have is lobe lift and not actual valve lift which with a 1.5 ratio rocker would be .450/.460. just my guess

Agree with that. I'd sure suggest a head upgrade at some point though. With the cam and setup you're really giving up serious power with the stock smogger heads.

Can I pull either valve cover to check the heads?

You can get an idea from the casting numbers. Sometimes you can remove the oil fill cap and actually see the numbers.
