I had my th350 rebiult to stock specs with exception to an additional shift kit. I've been told that it may not hold up to a 3500 rpm stall converter. What should I do to allow it to handle my stall converter?

I believe your rebuilder is trying to say he won't warranty your unit if used in high-performance applications. Beyond that- if you run a 3500 converter you're going to need a large external transmission cooler to keep what will be alot of extra heat generated under control.

Unfortunately, if the quality of parts used in the rebuild was no good- the transmisson will blow up anyways- it'll just do it alot faster if it's always spinning fast. However- a 3500rpm stall won't fully engage the transmission until 3500rpm. That being said- the transmission will see alot of time at higher-than-typical speeds for driving up to the 3500rpm mark- but really- the transmission isn't being put under excessive load or strain just because of the converter (other than the heat issue mentioned above). I suspect your builder just doesn't want to deal with such an issue and would rather sell you a "better" unit for larger $$$s and/or has used cheapy parts in your rebuild and is a bit worried you'll find this out the hard way.

put the convertor in and enjoy your new power band..........if your tranny was rebuilt then it would be fine.....alot of people have there trannys reworked to stock specs and throw in a shift kit and put a stall in it.......no biggy

in fact im running a 10 sec camaro with a stock rebuilt tranny with 4500 stall and a transgo shift kit.......how do i know its stock...i rebuilt it......and this tranny is still going since 93.......so dont worry about it.......

Heck 95% of the transmissions built are built to stock specs http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

put that thing in and enjoy it.
