Can I weld the tubes on my rear-end before I install the Moser C-clip elimimators? Just wondering, cause I'll have a welder handy in a few weeks, but I won't have the new axles nor posi yet. The rear end is about the only mechanical thing on a street rod that I've never torn apart and rebuilt.
Thanks!

Yes, definitely do it while the rear end is apart. You don't want the working guts in it when you weld.
Take your time, and weld in short runs evenly spaced around the tubes. You don't want to get the cast part too hot.

Welding the tubes can be a little tricky because the tubes are steel and the center is cast iron. They need to be welded with a nickel rod and it needs to be pre-heated before it is welded. The surface of the cast iron must be ground off before welding.
