How do I identify the correct 700r4 for a build up ? I was told I needed the non electronic one with the "large" shaft. Am going to look at one later today..can someone give me some pointers to look for so I don't buy a boat anchor. Guy said it came out of a 6 cylinder camaro

yes pass on the V6 trans.87 and newer 700s are the better ones-but only if they are from a V8!

I dont think that the V6 tranny will bolt up to a 350. I think that V6s are 60 degree blocks. I think that what you are looking for is a 87 and up 700R4. They have a secondary valve body and a 30 spline shaft. 84-86 700R4s dont have the secondary valve body and have a 27 spline shaft..
