i just got my car running recently. i bought it with a used tranny and no motor. i drove it around for less than five minutes and when i shut it off tranny fluid shot out of the dipstick tube. any ideas.. could something be clogged. i never did check the fluid with the car running either. could too much fluid do this. the car was sitting for about 2 years. thanks.

Happened to me a few times(more times than I will admit to). Usually a combination of a few things like overfull and plugged vent tube. Almost always because its overfull. Make sure that you have the correct dipstick for your transmission when you are checking levels....dont ask me how I know about that!

my car actually caught on fire because of this. header lit up. love those fire extinguishers. i pulled out the vent tube. thats ok unless where it plugs into the tranny is clogged. probably too much fluid. thanks.
