Does this tranny have the same bolt pattern as a TH-350 ?

How weak is it ? I can't find any info on any Tq ratings.

Got a guy interested in a Vega and asking questions....wants to do it 'his way'....so if anyone can find me some info or point me in a direction to point him, lemme know.

Thanks

Very similar to TH350 internally but lighter and usually weaker parts.

Fewer clutches, etc..

You can use some of the parts in a TH350 to build a lighter internal rotating mass for that few more .00001 of ET....

I would avoid the 250 and build a TH350 using some TH250 parts...Or jsut use a TH350 as is.

I believe it is another case of "it depends"- the TH-250 was used on alot of Buick 3.8Ls in the early 80s I believe- so I don't know if it has dual bolt patterns (i.e. a "unicase") or if you have to shop for the correct casing.

I did a quick search at montecarloss.com, according to them it will bolt in. it was used in the "G" bodied chevy with a 6 cylinder and low powered 8s.also was used on 3.8 buicks hth

I had one in my '79 monte, it lasted a week behind the 350 I built for it, the car came with a 305. Wasn't bad seemed the gearing was a little different than the th350 i put in later
