Guys I just bought this Carb and got it running but it seems to be running rich at idle.when its idling it Burns my eyes and lungs. I tried leaning it out with no luck. I'm running a Holley mechanical fuel pump the small one it runs at 7.5 Psi and 80 gph do I need a regulator?

Yes. Of all the popular brands of aftermarket performance carbs the Edelbrock/Carter designs seem to be the most sensitive to fuel pressure that's too high. Most on this board would advise nothing over about 5 PSI.
My experience with Eddy carb (the standard ones, never worked on an AVS although it's basically the same design) is that the float level should always be checked before install, even fresh out of the box.

Agreed. They are what, 35 bucks or so? Plumb it in and it'll help. As for idling rich, slowly screw in the two screws on the front one at a time until rpm's begin to drop, then back out 1/2 a turn. If you have a wideband airfuel guage its even easier. Just turn the screws and watch the meter till you get between 14-1 and 15-1. Then there is the old fashion way of letting it idle for 10 minutes, shut it down and check the plugs. I prefer the wideband though.
