Smokey,
You have the low support out?
Or that is what you are trying to get out?

Do you have a digital camera or an ATSG manual? Or what book are you using. Maybe I can walk you through it with the pics or part numbers.

The low support gets caught in the case splines. This is why you have the anti-clunk spring in the case.
If yours is really bad you may need to use a case saver on reassembly.

You may have to take a long screwdriver and knock the low support around to disengage it from the case splines. Then drop it on the output shaft a time or two.
Pretty stubborn sometimes.
You do have the snap ring out right? http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/wink.gif

OHHH!!!,
OK,
You still have more left than just the output and the planetaries....

First,
do you have any kind of manual for this to help with reassembly?

OK,
The plantary you are looking at is called the output carrier assembly.
There is a small external snap ring that holds it to the splines of the output shaft.
Do you have that off?

Once that is off you SHOULD be able to lift the output carrier off the output shaft.
BUT,
Sometimes it gets kinda beat into the splines, so you will have to get rougher with it to get it off.
Take a couple of brake spoons, or something similar to get behind it and wiggle/jar it off.

Once you get it off, the sun gear and shell will lif out.
Exposing the low/reverse support.
There will be a snap ring holding it into the case. Remove that snap ring and then bump the output shaft against the floor to jar all the rear drive loose.

Lift it all out, then the only thing left is the low/rev apply piston and return spring assemblies.
Do you have the tool to compress those..? It's a PITA to do by hand, BTDT.

GM's shop manual works great for it. Shows all kinds of stuff.

Also some excellent books on BarnesandNoble.com
