OK here's the deal i bought a new electric fuel pump the Jegs version of a holley blue pump. I was ready to install and realized there is nowhere to mount it with the gas tank and dual exhaust it says it must be lower then the lowest point of the tank any idea or pics of setups would be great thanks in advance.
The reason i got the pump was because i'm running out of fuel on the top side of my rpm's.

Ya ya ya, I realize the search feature is absolutely useless if you search anything "Fuel pump"
Since this gets asked at least weekly, I dug up a thread from last month and put it in the 'assorted engine stickies'. Feel free to add info and pics to the thread.

try searching for "pump location" in this and other sections seperately in the Drivetrain & performance area. Might get you some more pics.

The location (lower than tank) is "recommended". Then again, you need to do what's practical as well.
A long time ago, I had an electric pump that supplimented my mechanical pump. It was mounted inside my trunk. That's not recommened either, but that's where it was and it worked.
The location theory is because pumps want to PUSH fuel... not PULL it. But if they have to pull it, they can. It's just not ideal. So now you gotta decide... do you want to run out of fuel? Or do you want the fuel pump to work a little extra harder to keep your engine running if/when the need arises.
When I put the holley pump onto 1 of my Z's, I made a plate for it and mounted the thing right in front of my gastank. I used the factory exhaust mounting positions to hold my plate. I didn't like this either because it put the pump & filter within inches of the rear end housing.
I finally punted and went with a high volume mechanical pump. My thought process here is if a winston cup stock car can make due with a mechanical pump and not run out of fuel... I should be able to as well.

Here's the 2 ways I had it:
old school, supplimental, fire hazard, pulling fuel, etc... (ignore battery)

Holley, electric only setup, poor location...

More yapping:
The pump in the trunk is a carter electrical thing. I don't recall the specs, but it would allow my engine to twist up to and over 7000 RPM. I believe it was supplimenting the stock mechanical fuel pump.
The holley... even with the regulator and multiple folks taking a peek at it... liked to pump my crankcase full of fuel. This caused me a bunch of unnecessary problems and expense.

All I run now are Mallory pumps. Quiet and work well and I can hear the radio, but who needs a radio in a racecar. LOL
