Looking for a nice aftermarket oil pan for my 355 build. I would like to go +1 or +2 quartsts on capacity vs stock.

Running headers and stock suspension on '73 model and would like driver side dipstick

Any good suggestions that do not have ground clearance or oil filter access issues?

You're stepping into a different world when you start changing oil pans to increase capacity and looking for a stock height ride and running headers. Just make sure it all fits together (headers, oil filter, starter, ground clearance, etc) whether you go with a deep pan or one with the sides sticking out.

is it just a street car, or will you do the occasional run down the strip, or maybe autocross/circuit track it ? as these all have different oil pan requirements..

I've got a Canton 5 trap-door kick out sump that works well and keeps pressure spot on in long hard bends on the track..

Gonna be a street car - no track or autocross time. I like the extra capacity vs stock though.

I looked at the Moroso 20180 and Milodon 30401 - both are 6 qt. I know the stock pan is 7.5in deep and these 2 are 8.250 and 8.50 respectively.

Just wondering what anyone else has run.

Thanks, Ed

Either one works just fine. I run the Canton. No need to over think it. If you like red get the moroso. Both way better oil control than stock.

I went with THIS (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-20170/) +1 quart pan. 5 quarts plus the oil filter.

I have the hamburger oil pan on mine. It has good clearance, trap door baffling, built in crank scraper, and windage tray, 7 quarts, and 8 inches deep. For less than 200 bucks! not bad

Which one exactly? I need a good pan for my stock car, but most of the Hamburger ones I've seen were more like $300. I'd love to find out more...

Thanks Guys,

I like the Moroso 20191 - the Hamburger is nice as well at 7 qts and only 8.0 deep.

Dropped the block off last week at motor shop - looking forward to building a mild 350hp 355 for the '73. Gonna be an auto OD tranny a/c cruiser all the way :)
