Has anybody ever heard of a whistler for checking compression ratios? A guy was telling me about this tonight and I guess you remove #1 and 2 plugs and hook this thing up and roll the motor over and apparently its supposed to tell you your compression ratio...

yeah, I've heard of them. Certain race classes they have to be below a mandated CR, and the tech may check you with one of those whistlers. A builder was telling me about one a guy brought into his shop, he had bought it cuz tech was messing with him so he bought his own. The builder said the damthing was deadnuts on the money on 2 engines he tested it on. I friggin want one too but I really don't need one nor can I can't justify the $2k.
you rock it thru tdc and then do something else I don't remember
